This photo was returned with our contributor's Uncle Andy's
things after he was killed in action during World War II. She believes the
picture was taken in Hawaii around 1944. Her uncle, Andy Rohleder, LT(jg) USNR
from North Carolina, was shot down over Taiwan on 12 October 1944. He was a
Naval pilot who flew off the Intrepid. She is not sure if these are shipmates,
or buddies from another ship. Her uncle is not pictured here and no names are
on the picture.
